Earlier today, we visited Lady Jane Grey Primary School in Leicestershire to deliver a series of fun learning activities based on A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Associate artists Ben Adams and Elizabeth Rose joined artistic director Ben Spiller to deliver characterisation, language and costume workshops for a group of 30 children aged from 6 to 11.

By the end of the day, all the children had developed their own supernatural creature by having explored voice and movement, as well as designing and making their own costumes.

The day ended with a performance of a scene from A Midsummer Night's Dream for the rest of the school. Ben Adams played Bottom and Elizabeth played Titania, while the workshop participants played the inhabitants of Titania's fairy kingdom, who fed and entertained Bottom at Titania's command.

"The day was a great success, with all the pupils engaged fully in the drama, movement and costume workshops. You explained everything so clearly and made Shakespeare lots of fun."

Miss Coleman, Head of Year 2, Lady Jane Grey Primary School
